Processing Tyro EFTPOS Payments when POS is Unavailable
If the POS system is unavailable, you can process payments as standalone EFTPOS transactions. Depending on how long the POS system is unavailable, you can:
- process a one-off standalone transaction
- disable the integrated EFTPOS mode on the Tyro terminal and process all transactions in standalone mode. You would do this if the POS system was unavailable for more than a few transactions.
Processing a One-Off Standalone Transaction
- On the terminal, select MENU.
- Scroll to Transactions and select OK.
- Select the transaction type you want to process and select OK.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to process the transaction.
- When the POS system is available, record the transaction in your file.
Disabling Integrated EFTPOS Mode
- On the terminal, select MENU.
- Scroll to Settings and select OK.
- Scroll to Integrated EFTPOS and select OK.
- Scroll to Disable and select OK.
You can now process standalone transactions.
- When the POS system is available, record the transactions in your file.
- You also need to re-enable the integrated EFTPOS mode later when the POS system is available again.
Enabling Integrated EFTPOS Mode
- On the terminal, select MENU.
- Scroll to Settings and select OK.
- Scroll to Integrated EFTPOS and select OK.
- Scroll to Enable and select OK.
